End of Day our 25 Day

We went from Rugby to Minnewauka about 60 miles. We are in a city park with a 60 ish couple from CA and a couple from Vermont all cycling. The CA couple are doing their 4th and last tour. They have done both coasts and the southern route and now the northern tier will be their last bike trip before living on a boat. Our other couple is a women riding from VT to WA to raise money for MS which her Dad passed away from. She is being supported by her husband in a car. She is making great time as she left Vermont on 6/2, we had them over and since they were headed west we exchanged good places to stay and road knowledge along they route.

We had the strongest winds yet from the northwest which made our first 25mile leg harder as it was a due south ride. During a rest we broke out the remaining cherries from yesterday. We had heard that someone broke the cherry pit spitting record over the 4th so Ryan and I gave it a try. Our best effort only managed a shot across the 2 lane road and both shoulders not the 54 plus ft needed to get in the record books.

Than we turned east and all was well again. Our plan is to do 98 miles tomorrow as Tuesday’s Devils Lake detour came into play.
