Rest Day-Father’s Day

We did 8 straight days of riding, 5 mountain passes and 497 miles so we celebrated with a day off in Sandpoint, ID. It’s a great western town located on Lake Pend Oreille right in the middle of a year round outdoor activity center.

Some Random thoughts of the trip so far: Waffles make for excellent pre-ride food, The amount of trash, mostly beer and pop cans along the roadway is way more than you think doing 65 mph. The number of dead song birds is also incredible. One can probably assemble a car from what is available on the side of the road with nuts and bolts being the most popular.  Concrete trucks don’t move over as far as they should for a ride going uphill. Friends are made in random places if one introduces themselves. Warren Buffet Has a really big train set. Your son learned that you can buy only the number of bananas that you want to and not the entire bunch. This country is really BIG and most people are really nice…..
