Camping out at Lake Geneva, Wisc.

We gave the bikes and gear a trial run and rode up to Lake Geneva, Wisc.  it was a 60+ mile trip there.  We camped out over night and cooked dinner.  The next day was a 60+ mile trip home with a good 20-25 mile wind in our face the whole time.  It was a good trial run.  We realized pretty quickly how important WATER is!!

Ryan – getting dinner ready.

Mitch – this is a great Picture! Loved meeting you guys in Wisconsin for the ride home. But I think hat ride goes down in my short biking history as THE WORST. The winds for stronger than 25MPH for sure and head-on. It took me days to get back to normal after that. and it was HOT. maybe 6 bottles of water for 70 miles that day. I dont know how you guys did it with those heavy packs too.

Agreed. it was a welcomed sight to see you on the road after doing the long distance met. Once we turned south from Hwy 50 the wind was square in our face and with the heat already in the 90’s it was a true test.
It was reassuring to see you have the same struggles once you turned south to catch us. We learned a lot that day and will apply it to our Cross Country Trip.
